Before arriving in France

What you'd better do

You have to prepare a long time ago.

Formalities :

All informations you need are described in the guide “I go to France ", published by CNOUS and available in all the consulates and on the web of the CNOUS.

You have, in perticular, to obtain :

• An pre-admission in a higher educational establishment.
• A studying visa of long stay.

To obtain the visa, you must present at the consulate of France of your country of origin:

• a medical certificate,
• a certificate of pre-inscription or a certificate of inscription in a french school.
• documents that prooves your incomes (wages, allowances…)

When you'll be in France,  you won't be allowed to change a short duration visa (tourist visa) into a visa of long stay.
